Le gîte d'étape - Salt Spring Island, BC

The south end of Salt Spring is the most beautiful area on the island. While our “gîte” is 20 minutes from Ganges, it is well worth the drive. Once you’re here you’ll know why. Ruckle Park, truly the gem of British Columbia's rare ocean-front provincial parks (operating also as a working farm), is a walk away. Also nearby are other beautiful farms, sheep pastures, artist studios, organic food producers, and forest trails. A short stroll down the road is the “grandmother tree”—a towering 400-year old Douglas-fir—the first stop for nature lovers.

Our gite is a private, two-bedroom cottage decorated in French Country style. You will find everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There is a queen size bed in the main bedroom that opens to a private deck. There is another queen bed in the second bedroom.  While the cottage sleeps 4, it is the most comfortable for 2-3 people.

The are two covered deck areas: a small breakfast space that gathers morning light and another that captures the setting sun.

The cottage has a full bathroom (toilet, shower, sink, washer and dryer). For a special Salt Spring experience, there is also an outdoor shower, a big hit for many guests.

The cottage itself is surrounded by a lovely lavender garden, an acre of grass, fruit trees, and snake rail fences that are typical of Salt Spring Island.  There's lots of room to play, sunbathe or take in the evening sun. You will see wildlife and nature. You will sleep well!

Inside the cottage, there is a small music system, WIFI, and comfy country-style furniture. There is in-floor heating that you can adjust to your needs. Our water comes from a deep well, is regularly tested, and is perfect for drinking. You have found your place to relax!

The cottage is very private and has its own gate and driveway. While open and sunny, you are quite a distance from neighbouring properties and our main house.

For couples looking for a quiet retreat or small families who enjoy nature, welcome to our Salt Spring Gîte!
