Location

From Vancouver:

By Air: There are two float plane companies that provide service between Vancouver and Salt Spring Island. Harbour Air (formerly Salt Spring Air) departs from Coal Harbour at the foot of Burrard Street downtown and from the Vancouver Airport South Terminal. Sea Air departs from the South Terminal only. All Salt Spring flights arrive in Ganges Harbour. Our cottage is a 20-minute drive from Ganges and vehicle rentals are available at the Ganges Marina.

By Ferry: BC ferries schedules should always be consulted as departure times vary throughout the year. Reservations are required in the high season. There are two ways to get to Salt Spring from the mainland. The Gulf Islands ferry departs from Tsawassen twice a day in the winter and more regularly in the high season, and arrives at Long Harbour near Ganges on Salt Spring.

The second route involves taking the frequent Tsawassen ferry to Swartz Bay, near Victoria, and transferring to the Fulford Harbour ferry in Swartz Bay. (Ask for a thru-fare in Tsawassen.)  Our cottage is a 10-minute drive from Fulford Harbour.

From Victoria:

By ferry: The Fulford Harbour ferry typically departs from Swartz Bay every two hours from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Swartz Bay is a short drive from the Victoria Airport and 30 minutes from downtown Victoria. Schedule changes occur on Saturdays in the high season due to the market.

Always check current schedules as they vary.

(If you are coming from areas north of Victoria, the Crofton to Vesuvius ferry runs throughout the day, almost every hour.)
